      Description

      Hake belongs to the crescents which are once again part of the cod-cephalopods. The family of hake is large. Hake is a fairly long robust fish and has a slightly flat head with very sharp teeth. This fish is predominantly gray/blue silver in color and can reach a length of 140cm with a weight of up to 15 kg. This copy is also known as European hake. Merluccius merluccius is the only specimen of the family that occurs in European waters. This magnificent fish is found to the east of the Atlantic from Iceland to Norway and also in the mediterranean. Hake can be found up to a depth of 1000m. Hake is a real summer fish and if the weather is favorable it can also be found in the North Sea. Hake feeds on herring, mackerel and anchovy and even metinkfish.
