Frituren
Frying: 1. Heat 2-4 cm of vegetable oil in a frying pan or deep fryer. (Fry a small piece of pappadum to check if the oil is hot enough. If it expands immediately, the temperature is correct). 2. As the pappadums expand significantly, fry them one at a time for 2-3 seconds until they are crispy. 3. Remove the pappadum from the pan with tongs and drain on kitchen paper. CAUTION: Be careful with hot oil.
Magnetron
In the microwave: 1. Brush both sides of a pappadum with vegetable oil. 2. Place the pappadum in the microwave and cover with paper towel. 3. Heat on high for 30 seconds until the pappadum has fully expanded. These instructions are only a guideline. Your microwave's power may vary, so adjust the cooking time accordingly.
