Redfish has a large family and belongs to the order of scorpion fish, including the rascasse. The redfish family has several species, all of which have a strong resemblance but can vary greatly in color. Striking to this species are the big eyes and the spikes on the head. Redfish can reach a length of 100 cm with a weight of 15 kg, and lives up to a depth of 1000 m. Redfish is sometimes caught at large depths, once taken up the eyes are slightly swollen by the pressure difference.
