Pagre Azores
Pagre is also known as common sea bream or red porgy. This specimen is found in the waters east of the Atlantic, from the Canary Islands to the British islands. On the west side of the Atlantic from America to Argentinië this fish is not unknown either. The company also occurs in the Mediterranean and can reach a length of 90 cm with a weight of 10 kg and swim to a depth of 250 m. The pagre is predominantly deep red/pink in color with a silver belly silk and is thick. Probably that is why these fish are also called red porgy. One can safely say that the company is a very luxurious sea bream. Fresh specimens are strong, flavors great because this fish has something to offer. Characteristic is the shape of this fish, which is considerably thicker than most sea breams. You can bake, grille, steam and even consume raw food in the Pagre.
