The döner is made, just like our burger, from Vonc's own vegetable wheat texture, which is based on an age-old process from the Far East. The wafer-thinly sliced döner is indistinguishable from the real thing. The structure is very fine and can even be fried extra crispy. The sliced slices are marinated in our delicious Shawarma spice mix. The perfect vegan snack addition for what you score points with.
* METHOD OF PREPARATION: Baking: After defrosting, bake in a pan or on a baking tray in some oil (do not fry). Can also be heated in a bain-marie, because the product is already pre-cooked.
* SERVING TIP: We recommend this in a Durum (wrap) or sandwich (pita bread) with your own fresh crispy salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) and with a tasty (garlic) sauce. Also delicious as a 'Vegan Kapsalon' with fries, crispy red cabbage and a vegan cheese sauce.

The homemade wheat texturate is based on a centuries-old process, originally from Japan. It resembles seitan, which literally means "full of protein," which has been prepared traditionally for hundreds of years. It is made from wheat flour and water. By repeatedly rinsing the dough, the wheat protein, the gluten, remains. The gluten mass is cooked in water or (vegetarian) broth until a product has a spongy texture and a savory flavor.

Bake in oven
Rational oven: preheat to 210°C (400°F), then load the ovenware and bake for 8 minutes at 190°C (375°F) with 50% steam, heating through to the core. Note: the product can dry out in the oven, so it's best to cook it on a baking tray.
Fry in grill pan
Thawed food is best prepared. Heat oil in a frying pan, then fry the food for 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy. Heat thoroughly through before serving.
