The blonde ray comes from the large family of the cartilaginous. That is, like anglerfish and sharks, they have a cartilage skeleton and no bones. There are many different species worldwide. In the North Sea there are, among other things, the thornback ray, spotted ray, star ray, skate and stingray. The species vary in length from 30 centimeters to no less than 2.5 meters. They live on the seabed to a depth of 200 meters, but are also sometimes found at a depth of 600 meters. The blonde ray is found in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean from Morocco to Denmark and around Great Britain to the Mediterranean Sea. The blonde ray is very similar to the spotted ray but has more light dots on her skin. The blonde ray can reach 120 cm with a weight of 13 kg and swims to a depth of 350 m. The blonde ray is commercially interesting and is strongly fished, putting pressure on the population.
