    MSC Saithe backpart with skin portion

      Description

      Saithe is family of the cephalopods which in turn belongs to the Cable jauwtigen. It is often thought that this fish is only processed into fish sticks, but black saithe is a real treat. This specimen is found in the northern waters of Greenland up to Spitsbergen and in the waters of the Eastern Atlantic. High quality is found in Iceland, Denmark and Norway where it is caught by the line. Saithe swims to a depth of 350 m. This fish can reach a length of 135 cm with a weight of 30 kg. The color of the skin is predominantly dark gray/brown at the top leading to a light gray belly.
