We all know that we need to reduce our eating and consumption behaviour for our health but also for the environment, because
we now use three times as many raw materials as our planet can offer us. It is no longer a matter of wanting, but
we really need to reduce. However, meat is tasty and is deeply ingrained in our system and food culture and also contains a lot of proteins. How
can we solve this in a smart way?
That is why Sparc Kitchen has developed a meatball (approximately 30 grams), in which the beef is mixed with LESS ®, a very protein-rich vegetable component. The meatball with LESS ® contains 50% less meat and is largely vegetable, but just as tasty, juicy and even more nutritious! In this way, you as a company and/or institution simultaneously reduce your CO2 emissions!
With this beef meatball, the 'new half and half', with LESS ® and 48% beef, people halve their meat consumption without compromise. To make the meatball suitable for a responsible menu, it has been specially developed with a low salt and fat content in combination with a high protein and fiber content. Compared to a standard sausage, the 'new half and half' therefore does not have the taste of meat, but 55%* less fat and 7%* more protein, which fits into a healthy diet, helps with malnutrition and patient recovery and the creation of muscle tissue.
LESS ® is also a good source of minerals such as iron and selenium. It contains about as much iron as beef. LESS® fits into a low-carb diet and, unlike meat, contains fiber. LESS ® contains all essential amino acids, as the proteins are mainly made up of branched amino acids: BCAAs: a very good source of energy, especially when your carbohydrate supply is depleted. BCAAs also help your muscles recover faster after exercise.
