The MSC Sole DAB is also called neustong or lemon sole. That is remarkable because this copy is not a family of Sole but belongs to the family plaice. The Tongschar occurs in the waters of Norway, the Bay of Biscay to Iceland. This flatfish can reach a length of 65 cm with a weight of 3 kg. Sole DAB lives up to a depth of 200 m.. Sole DAB has a brown/green marbled top with a white bottom. Characteristic is the small head with a relatively large abdomen. If the Sole is offered in filletform, it is difficult to distinguish it from the sole fillet.
